Social Media FUEL
To share content to social media we do so in one of the following methods:
A. Manual Posting getting all the info you need manually
B. Shared Posting (internal via social media or external via a website)
A. To do a Manual Posting your need to find the status bar (1) of your desired social media platform and start to create your posting. To upload your flyer click on the photo box (2), select your photo (3), wait for it to load (4), say something (5) and POST.
The photo posting above however does not do anything for you in terms of SEO. So to be able to get SEO you need to not only generate content but also drive traffic. The Combination Post explains it better by adding #tag and @tag leads (6), using bitly.com to create a neat link (7), adding the link to your posting (8) and then to POST.
So if you do not have a flyer to post to social media then I can show you how to create using Google Drive. Google Drive has many free tools similar to Microsoft Office products but all for FREE! Go to Drive.Google.com and log in with your gmail. If you do not have a gmail email for your Google Account you might not have access to all the tools.
Press NEW and create a Google Drawing. You have many ways to create this image and Google Drawings really makes it easy. I find the hardest part is figuring the different types of images files. So I am going to try and explain it.
A. When you create something using say Microsoft word you can copy and paste. When you copy and paste something it puts it on an invisible clipboard. You have a clipboard on Google Drive but you first need to get the images in a format to work with the clipboard. Because of this I usually create my own Clip Board Resource in advance.
B. The resource clipboard is created by dragging and dropping images from my computes files to a drawing. I also back up these images in a folder in their original jpg, png etc file formats for later use.
C. The NEW images that I create using Google Drawings I also add to a separate folder.
Lastly I have a few Design Templates that you can use to help make your life easier. Follow the instructions on the slide to copy them to your own drive.
When you have created your images you need to add them to your website. I use Weebly as my example as it is the easiest builder with the least learning curve for normal people.
When you are inside your builder look at your Building Blocks. There are 3 related to visual elements called Image, Gallery and Slideshow. The Image block is the only one you can add via an HTML Link. That means it can be hosted elsewhere. The Gallery and Slideshow has to be uploaded manually to Weebly. You do have some space with Weebly but I would not get into the habit of doing it this way all the time.
So you can either upload the image you created or you can add you image URL via the social media platform you uploaded it to.
Social Media FUEL
Events are like little packages that you can fold up and shoot into the online world. You have 3 audiences online (Humans, Groups, Businesses) and on Facebook all 3 have their own event tabs. All 3 are managed separately from the individual pages.
Goolge recently rolled out a few options when it comes to events but sorting between the options are still a bit confusing. From what I understand we have:
- Current Google Calendar (integrating with some)
- Public Event Tabs off your G+ personal page
- Priivate Hangouts via Celandar
- Group Video Hangouts on Air
- YouTube Live
So yes right now it is sort of all over the place...
Google definitely give us many option and tools for events and it is clear that there is much more to come! The best way to integrate events with your website right now is to use your Google Calendar and to link all other events to it. Then you embed it into your website. This makes sure that you have ONE PLACE to update and always refer clients to.
Social Media FUEL
Social Media tools gives you the ability to create something that has value to potential clients. This value is what gets their interest and starts the Social Selling conversation.
A Offer or Coupon is most developed on Facebook and not yet offered by other platforms such as Google Plus, Twitter, Linkedin or Pinterest. So we are using Facebook as our example. Later we will target the other platforms by creating and inserting a coupon into our website that we can share to those audiences as well.
Sign into Facebook and switch to your business page. In your status bar (1) see if you see the offer icon (2), click on it to see the drop-down menu (3) an select offer.
If you DO NOT have an offer added to your Facebook Business page you can try to add it or find out why it is not visible. Top right on your page look for the Setting Menu and select the Help menu (4) next to it. Click on Advertiser Support (5) and Create Ad (6). In the new screen look for "Get people to claim your offer" (7). Under Offer Claims (8) select the page you would like to add the offer to (9). It will either add it (10) or tell you that you do not qualify. To get it added you need at least 100 followers to like your page. Easiest and quickest way to do this might be to pay for an offer, gain the following needed and then use your free offer after.
So lets start from the beginning to create our offer from the status box (1), select offer (2) and fill out the info (3). Title (4), Description (5) add a picture (5), Expiration Date (7) and Limit (8).
You can create your offer from here but keep in mind the More Option (9) for later. Created offers are showing on your timeline but cannot be deleted. Press the top right arrow to "Hide from Timeline" if you would like to remove it. So it shows on your timeline to you but that does not mean it is published. To Publish press "share" and then Share Now (Public).
For Viral Marketing also share (1) your offer to your Page(s)(2), own timeline(3) and in related groups(4). When someone then claims the offer it is sent out in their newsfeed to their friends to see. Think SEO process of driving traffic. The aim would be to get people to go to your website for the offer so this is where we need to back -track to the MORE OPTIONS part... So the URL www.pluginmuse.com/contact and addition under the term and conditions to scheudle your meeting and adding the promo code would let you claim the offer. This process is needed to get them to your website, to get that 'click' for your VEHICLE to move down the road.

Having your Social Media accounts in place and actually navigating them is two different things. Navigating between what is part of your human profile and what is part of your business profile can get pretty confusing if you do not understand the basic structure of it all. So understanding that we have human profiles, groups and business pages are key.
The easiest way to 'switch' between them would be to navigate from the top right. This would be an arrow pointing down in Facebook, a profile icon in Google Plus and you profile image or icon on Linkedin. When you switch it is like you are clocking in to work and working as the business and NOT the human. Facebook also allows you to stay a human while working on your business page if you navigate via your quick navigation menu on your Home page. This is helpful when you would like to share postings to groups you belong to as a human and if you would like to invite your human friends to a business event.
Make sure to see your human news-feed separate from your business news-feed. You human news-feed is a newspaper with updates related to your human profile while you business newspaper should be a business resource that you could read, interact with and use as a tool to figure out your niche and market while looking at competitors. If you do not have a business newspaper that means you are not 'plugged in' as a business and urgently need to adjust your relativity by liking local pages, competitors and products all as a business. This will help search engines to spit you out easier in searches as you have connectivity marketers to help.
Google Business Tool
Google is going to become your hosting, if it is not yet... We are all moving towards cloud hosting as it loads quicker, is convenient, secure and easy to collaborate. Many of this hosting can be free by adding images to social media pages and inserting them into your website via links. Google drive however breaks the mold when it comes to what we have previously envisions possible to add to our websites via cloud. One of my biggest problems as a content creator is keeping all my content up-to-date and current. Updating slideshare.net or Youtube movies has become a disaster and time-consuming. ALL slides on this website is embedded from my Google Drive. After I have updated the content all I do it publish and they automatically update! So if Google Drive is you new Microsoft Office in the clouds, can you imaging pressing publish and it all updates to your website...? The possibilities are endless!!!
So before we start to dream in Google, how about learning how to use your folders, how to move folders, how to add your image files and how to copy images to a clipboard to use easy between ANY kind of document.
Do not share RAW files via Social Media unless they are public, rather publish and embed to your website and THEN share to drive traffic to your website. Always think about the SEO process.
Lastly download all your Apps to your mobile devices. Sign in and sort them in folders for easy use. (see slide 11)
Lastly add your creations to your website! If you have a weebly website this is incredibly easy with the Embed Code Building block.
To navigate Log in (top right). There is a few parts you have the ability to 'sort' on Weebly and often find they might need sorting.
1) BUILD TAB
Building Blocks: You can change and sort the layout of your pages. Whether this is to make the content easier to understand, to eliminate white space or just to try and stay up with trends.
2) PAGES TAB
Your pages can be moved and sorted by dragging and dropping the order. They can be hidden and deleted. You can choose between a website page, a page linking to an outside page and a blog page. All different functions and purposes.
3) BLOG CATEGORIES
Sorting your blog can be painful. Weebly is definitely aware of this and tweaks and developments are often seen trying to make the process easier. The fact is that your blog moves and changes with your own growth and how you see your business. What might have been an important category 2 years ago is not one today. So far Weebly has been amazing with not leaving too many dead links when you make changes. Each blog is connected to the category that you assigned it to so if you would like to change it you need to do it manually. If there is still a category present that needs to be deleted it is because a blog is connected to it. Publish and check front end to see who is the culprit and move it over. when no blogs are connected to a category it will delete itself when published. Sometimes starting with a new blog page might be doable and backdating blogs. NEVER EVER scrap blogs. They are content giving weight to your website. Backdate and leave it! It shows progress, dedication and leaves a timeline of growth.

Link building is a basic SEO principle and building block found in everything online. It is part of the Penguin Algorithm and almost like a penguin puffing out its feathers to look bigger and fatter than what it really is. Link building in social media can be found in the way we build our postings, say for instance doing a LINK POSTING with an outside link to try and drive traffic for SEO.
Within the structure of your posting you could have backlinks such as @tags and #tags. An @tag links back to a business page on social media to maybe give them credit as a source or to give them a lead. A #tag helps to sort content in feeds or searches by popular keywords or brands.
The way you link your social media together can also be seen as link-building. When you share something via your website to Facebook feeding to Twitter or via Linkedin feeding to Twitter you are linking something. Adding images via Google Plus to your website and then linking back in a READ MORE>> link under the original image is building links.
Lastly adding all you social media part to your website as well as embedding parts over the internet via social plugins or iframes, all help you to 'puff out your feathers' and to look BIG and IMPORTANT sothat search engines recognize you as important!
Google Business Tools
Yes we can link pretty much everything for SEO but how does the normal 'Average Joe' figure out how to link his or her creations without being a programmer fluent in HTML? Well Google makes it easy!
When on YouTube, press the share button under a movie and see there is an embed part with code. This is probably one of the first easy codes we found over the internet. Weebly makes it easy with an Embed Code building block, copy and paste the code in and whala you have a movie on your website! But this is just the tip of the iceberg....
Google Drive with all it's development is suddenly turning into your one stop hub for creation! In our information society where generating content is becoming key for SEO this is a God given blessing to any small business trying to figure it all out! So look at what you have on Google Drive and use your Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings, Maps and Forms to create. When you are done IT ALL can pretty much be PUBLISHED ONLINE and embedded into your website!
This is amazing if you can imagine creating a slideshow, embedding it once and done. When you have changes just go to the original on your drive, make the changes and republish for it to show on your website! Same for Coupons created on Drawing, Forms, EVERYTHING!
....and then Google just added tools to make your Drive parts function even better! They are Add-on that you can add to the specific application. For instance an add-on that will send automated emails with details when someone fills out an embedded lead form in your website. Blows my mind! Just too much to figure out and too little time....
Currently the most important links to know and undertand for you website is:
Your templates on Weebly makes adding the social media ICONS easy and pop's up when you hover over the top righ hand side of your website when in the builder. If they are not there, change your template. With mobile sites and trends Weebly is currently making some changes to their templates to accomodate social icons on the mobile navigation menus. So adapt and look around.
I add IMAGES to my websites via social media back-links. This means that you do not pay for hosting as you are uploading to social media and not to the builder itself.
HYPERLINKS are very important in your website. Linking to pages inside your website makes navigation easier. Linking outside to websites on the internet helps with Penguin Algorithm and your website's MOZ ranking.
Easy ways to link out can be:
PLUGINS and WIDGETS are generally understood as an interactive part of something else embedded inside your website. Examples are your Google Map, Linkedin Profile or Business card, Facebook Comments, and other things added to help with the inter-activeness and functionality of your website.
Social Media Fuel
When you post on social media you can either do a manual posting or share. With sharing you can share an existing posting someone else did or you can share from your website using your share button.
To create your own manual posting the first thing you need to do is to locate your status box on the specific social media platform you are using, whether Google Plus, Twitter, Linkedin or Facebook, they all look similar.
You get different levels of postings and it takes time to work yourself up to a more advanced combination posting. Try them one step at a time...
1) Basic Post: Just words
2) Link Post: Add words and Load a Link
3) Post Post: Add a Photo
4) Lead Post: Use @tag and #tags
5) Combination Post: Now put it all together with a neat bitly link
Any monkey can post, even my 6 year old can do it! The question is whether you have an intention and whether the time spent is benefiting your business? When you post with a link and the intent to drive traffic your social media becomes the FUEL that drives traffic back to your website.
Google Business Tools
So if you are using your Social Media as fuel you need to 'hook' your audience in to click on something to read more.... That something needs to be ABSOLUTELY worth my while to read. So how do I create something that is interesting, related and has value enough for me to WANT to read it?
I use Google Drive as a tool to problem solve and to create. Google Docs is pretty much FREE Microsoft Word that is in cloud. You can collaborate and share docs with others and you can access it on multiple devices where ever you are as long as you have internet.
Use you Google Docs to create a table with the months, seasons, Holidays, Industry and Keyword columns or copy my Concept Development Table to your own drive. Now think about YOUR INDUSTRY and when you think of a month in a season close to a specific holiday what is different? How do you decorate, what type of services do you deliver? How do your products change? Don't write it all down, just the keywords and keyword combinations. List them one after another separated with a , and a space. This is what you will use to create your content.
A blog has a structure, a basic one anyway. One paragraph and a photo is NOT a blog and NOT worth my time!
1) Start with an Introduction and a mini outline to get me involved.
2) State the problem and talk about the argument.
3) Give me an example and hook me with a question.
4) Lastly give me the answer and say how you are going to help me!
Four paragraphs at least is required! So when you have the words (1) you need to add to the words related backlinks (2) and at least one image (3)
When you are done add it to your website!
Go to www.weebly.com, login and press edit to get to the back-end editor of your website (1-5). Navigate to your blog tab(6) and press new post (7) or edit an existing draft. Use the building block on the side to build your blog structure (8). Type in a headline (9) and copy and paste your blog from your Google Drive document (10).
To insert the image(11) is a different story... Determine where you want to 'host' your image. It can be Picasaweb.google.com, Google Plus on your business page in an album or even on Instagram. It does not matter where you keep it as long as you are able to get its Image URL. Facebook tends to hide these and mess up the code, so I would strongly suggest adding your public images to your Google Business page. Hidden private albums are better on Picasa, now also found in your Google Drive as Google Images.
So, go to your Google Plus page at Plus.Google.com, press the top right Icon to navigate to your business page, Select the Photo tab. Find an existing album (14) or Add Photos (13) to a new one.
When the photo is uploaded click on it to make it big(15), now right click to get the settings menu (16) and select 'copy image location' (17). This code that you have on your clipboard is what you need to add to Weebly.
So, go back to your blog still open in a separate tab in your internet browser, click on the image icon (18), select Image URL from the top tabs(19) and paste your URL (20). Please make sure that it ends with a .jpg, .png or .gif. If it does NOT end with either of those you did not copy the code right. Try again. If still unsuccessful try uploading your image elsewhere. If that does not work, ask for help in an FAQ Social Media Group.

For any kind of Social Selling to happen it is important to understand the audiences on Social Media Sites. When you are able to find your audience, or an audience who might be interested in what you have to say, only then you can target them with you content.
Humans, Groups and Businesses has different purposes for being on Social Media so that way you interact with these pages will have a big impact on your success.
These pages are also restricted by different settings. If you are using your Human page that has privacy settings no matter how big your audience, it does not have the ability to get SEO. This is also against Facebook policies.
Your Business page is meant for humans to follow you so people who are interested in what you do can follow you for updates. Groups are where many humans with a common interest hand out. If you are able to post something that is meaningful to them, they might engage and read more.
You can also post content on other business pages. For this method not to be invasive the content needs to be related. Power of Many Third Party Pages and always looking for content, messaging them and asking them to re-post will hugely increase your reach!
Google Business Tools
After you have shared and pushed out you content via Social Media, you have the ability to see how well it worked. Being able to measure your return on investment is very important if you would like to figure out how to improve. Creating a website and letting it stand is like parking a Ferrari on a busy road and thinking it is going to drive itself. You need to generate click to drive this car to Google Ratings and these can be measured and analyzed in detail using Google Analytics.
If you Analytics are plugged into your website, you can see who visited your website under the Audience section. The demographic can tell you their age, gender and general interest. The Geographical tab goes in detail on where in the world they are and narrows down clicks to specific towns. Also their language is displayed. When you compare the bounce rate (in and out) and time spent (looking around) with the Page session and Duration (what and how long) it is easy to see what works and what does not work.
Whatever you share to an audience via Social Media needs to have value, and be of interest to that audience for them to 'click' to go view it. So generating content needs some thinking, research and analyzing for it to be important.
When you know what you want to say, go to your website builder (1-5) and add this content in a new blog (6). Create a New Post (7) or edit an existing draft. Add a header (8) and use the building blocks to complete your blog layout (9). Make sure to add at least 150 characters, some visual elements and a back-link or two for a well balanced blog. Add it to a category (10), save or post (11) and Publish(12) if needed.
When you are published view your blog FRONT END by following the domain (13). Look for your share-button (14) to share to your business page. This button helps you to easily share your content to Social Media sites. can also help you to easily share to Facebook Groups, Linkedin Groups. To post to your Google Business page and your Linkedin Business page you would have to create a posting manually.
Why do I share? Well you could just leave it here and hope your target will find you... OR you could TARGET them in a as non-invasive manner as possible! This way you are not only driving traffic but you are also trying to get your content to go viral. PLEASE REMEMBER for Social Selling the conversation does not START with selling. When you content has value and are of interest to the target you are trying to reach, Social Selling will happen in the comments!

The purpose of an overview is to get the basics down. This is by no means an orientation of Social Media but more of a breakdown of how social media platforms such as Facebook, Google Plus, Linkedin, Twitter and Pinterest are put together.
Facebook is definitely setting the norm with Google Plus and Linkedin adapting accordingly. The important past to understand is that there are 3 different types of pages on the main social media sites as we find it today called: Human Profiles, Business Pages and Groups.
On Facebook, Google Plus and Linkedin the business pages are connected to the human profiles. Google Plus are in the process of narrowing down this divide of specific pages with their most recent warning seen when trying to create a human profile for a gmail business email.
These pages are connected but have different functions. A business page is public, has the ability to get SEO and less invasive as the owner cannot 'connect' or directly interact with followers. A human page has privacy setting and is meant for humans to connect and converse with people they know. Groups are just like high school. This is where a group of humans with a similar interest, conviction or perception can 'hang out'. Groups are powerful to use to market your business but VERY INVASIVE so learning how to do so in a subtle way is key.
View the slideshow to see how
1) Different pages are connected
2) How to navigate between front and back end
3) How to find the individual news feeds for each page
I used Facebook for the 'norm' but Google Plus and Linkedin's structures for navigating are VERY SIMILAR.
Google Business Tools
To create I use Google's free tools as much as possible. The amount of development that has happened in the past 6 months has been AMAZING and Google is surely living up to their mission of 'enhancing my online world' in more ways than I could ever have dreamed!
FOR IMAGES I have adapted and moved with the times from using Picasa, to using my Google Business Pages for photos and am starting to test the grounds of their new merging of all Picasa Images as Google Photos in your Google Drive. For now I am still adding all website images to my public Google business page, enjoying the editing function with many filers and then inserting via back links into my website.
FOR DOCS (Word Documents), SHEETS (Word Spreadsheets), SLIDES (Powerpoint), FORMS, DRAWINGS (Publisher) and MAPS make sure you use this amazing tool!!! All can be published, embedded and backlinked to be placed and used within your Weebly Website.
Your website gives you the one place where you can generate content that are important or of value to the audience you are trying to reach on Social Media.
So for a website you need 3 parts:
I get my DOMAINS through Godaddy as they are the biggest providers of domains, so the security and support is AMAZING! They also allow you to publish on an outside builder such as Weebly.
I specialize in Weebly Websites as they are the Easiest BUILDER currently available for normal human beings. I specialize in working with difficult, non computer literate clients and I teach each and everyone one of them how to navigate Weebly. If you are going to use your website to drive traffic for SEO it is CRUCIAL that you have access to your website and has the ability to add new content on a blog.
Hosting is the expensive part and a part of web development were many are still using the OLD WAYS. Technically you have FREE HOSTING on any form of social media. With mobile site development and the speed of your site becoming more important Google also advice to pull your hosting from multiple sources to help with a faster website loading speed. So yes, I design sites without hosting and teaches you how to add images, videos, and other visual content via social media sites and google products.
